TEHRAN Experts Assembly elections will be held on October 23, state radio said on Thursday. It said the Guardian Council, agreed with the Ministry of Interior's proposal on the date for the poll and also said registration of candidates for the Experts Assembly would begin on August 23. The assembly comprises 83 members who are elected for eight-year terms. The ballot will be the first national elections since President Mohammad Khatami took power one year ago.
